This was our second attempt at Ethan's twelve month photos. He was feeling better today but, good luck getting a little one to stay still or even look at the camera. We did get a few cute ones though.
Brian and I are loving life! We welcomed our first child, Ethan Wayne Groene on December 22, 2009. We are now happy to announce that Brandon Joseph was born on June 15, 2011! Parenthood, though it has it's occasional challenges, is absolutely incredible. Everyday we love getting to watch as these little miracles, our sons, grow and learn something new. God is AMAZING!
Merry Christmas
We can't believe it's already Ethan's second Christmas nor can we believe next year we'll have a 2 year old and a six month old! We had a wonderful Christmas Eve at Kristin, Brian's sisters house in the afternoon, went to a late afternoon church service and then had Auntie Willa, Annell and Jerry over for traditional chili dinner at our house. Christmas morning was so exciting with a little one looking to explore all of his new toys. We had a relaxing morning at the house then to Annell and Jerry's to celebrate with Jerry's cousin and his family down from Vista. The day was a beautiful one and we are so blessed to have so many things to be thankful for!
Birthday Boy!
We were so grateful Daddy was able to be in town for Ethan's big birthday celebration. Unfortunately, he was on a trip on Ethan's actual birthday. But, boy did we have fun! We went for Ethan's one year check up in the morning where he received four shots; not one tear was shed! Ethan weighs right in between what Brian and I weighed when we were his age. He is taller than both of us measuring in at 31 1/2 inches; that's 11 inches in one year!!! After naps we went to JC Penney to get his last round of photos. To say the least, that didn't go so well. Mental note, do not attempt photos after shots nor 3 days before Christmas! In the evening we went to Vince's for spaghetti with Annell, Jerry, Kristin and the kids. As you can see, Ethan loved it!
Happy Birthday Ethan!
We had such a wonderful time celebrating Ethan 1st Birthday! We decided on a farm themed party and even included a John Deere tractor! Though it was a rainy day here everyone had a blast driving the tractors around our residential neighborhood! Ethan loved sitting on the tractor with his Daddy and loved to wave at everyone. Ethan did amazing at the party with over 60 guests and wasn't even startled when we all broke into the birthday song. He loved his cake and loved mushing the icing and eating the chocolate doughnut wheels. It was a wonderful day filled with smiles, great friends, family and good food!
MOPS
Every Wednesday Mommy gets to enjoy time to herself with other Mommys, listen to speakers and eat great food. Ethan gets to hang out with the other children his age. Lately he's been struggling with time away from Mommy as you can see by their Christmas photo.
The Littlest Groene
We went in for another set of ultrasounds on December 10; everything is developing right on track. I am scheduled to go in for another ultrasound on January 28; they will be doing the fetal anatomy measurements. We should, hopefully be able to find of if Ethan will be having a little brother or sister that day too :)

Winter Wonderland
Annell, Kristin and I along with all the kids went to La Verne's Winter Wonderland. Ethan had the most fun going down the snow covered hill with his cousin Kyle!
Here Comes Santa Claus
Ethan did pretty well meeting Santa for the first; then second time. We would set him on Santa's lap, Ethan would look up, look at me, back at Santa, back to me then start crying. Both times they were able to snap the photo before the tears started.
