Brandon Joseph was born June 15, 2011 at 8:05 am; weighing in at 7 lb. 15oz and 20 inches in length. The delivery was quick and painless (c-section). Mommy is recovering well and we came home on the 17th. Big brother Ethan is adjusting well and loves to give Brandon hugs!
Brian and I are loving life! We welcomed our first child, Ethan Wayne Groene on December 22, 2009. We are now happy to announce that Brandon Joseph was born on June 15, 2011! Parenthood, though it has it's occasional challenges, is absolutely incredible. Everyday we love getting to watch as these little miracles, our sons, grow and learn something new. God is AMAZING!
Almost a Big Brother!
Ethan thinks he's ready to be a big brother. He has been very helpful around the house, helping Mommy clean up and picking up and putting away his toys. Though his favorite is helping in the back yard with watering and taking care of the garden. We know Ethan will be in for some big changes in just under two days, but we know he's going to do great!
Showered with Love
We are so blessed to have so many loving friends and family! We were thrown four showers! Thank you to all of Mommy's wonderful MOPS mommas and the lovely ladies from Mommy's womans group! Thank you as well to our amazing couples group and all of our family who have showered us with gifts for little brother!!!
The Nursery
Well, time has flown by this time around and we only have 11 days until Little Baby Brother will be here! Mommy and Daddy worked very hard to get the nursery all ready for the little guy and Ethan seems to be loving playing with all of his old toys. Ethan is also looking forward to being a Big Brother and has been practicing hugs on poor Ginger.
Huntington Library
Mommy and Ethan went to the Huntington Library yesterday with our friends from MOPS. We had a ball playing in the children's area and walking the grounds. Ethan loved playing in the water and thank goodness, Mommy brought extra clothes cause he was soaked!
Travel Town
Daddy surprised us on Memorial Day with a trip to Travel Town. Ethan had a great time and loved looking at all the big trains!
Weekend Away
For Mommy's Mother Day treat Daddy took Mommy to Balboa/Newport Beach for the weekend. This was the first time both Mommy and Daddy had been away from Ethan together! Miss Leah and her family were so kind to watch Ethan! Mommy and Daddy had such a relaxing time and it looks like Ethan had a blast!
Hospital Visit
Little Buddy seemed to be taking a really long nap so, just to make sure, Mommy had to go to the hospital to make sure little buddy was ok. Of course he was and while we were there they did a quick ultrasound. The top picture is a confirmation little buddy is still a boy; the second he was sticking his tongue out at us!
Mother's Day 2011
Mommy had a wonderful Mother's Day! We spent the day as a family and then in the evening we went to GG and Bops house for dinner. Ethan was really enjoying the corn on the cob!
Easter
We had a great Easter this year. Daddy was able to be here in the morning to see Ethan find his Easter basket; the Easter Bunny hid it under the dining room table. Ethan was first intrigued by the chocolate bunny and since it was a special day, Mommy let him eat as much as he wanted before breakfast, see the below before and after shot. For lunch Mommy and Ethan went to Bops and GG's house for an Easter egg hunt and time with the family.
3-D Ultrasound
Yesterday Brian and I were able to get a sneak peek of what little brother will look like. The little guy wasn't very happy during the whole process and just wanted to curl up and sleep with his arm in front of his face.
Ultrasound
Today I had my last appointment at the high risk center. We were happy to get a few pictures of baby brother today too!
